Day +71

Moving closer to Day +100. This week, however, hasn't been a very good one. Bill picked up a wicked stomach virus last Sat. Actually it was about half time of the OU game. We told him that was what made him so sick. It has really knocked him backwards. His Dr. appt. was just OK. All his counts were down except his red blood cells were still up. They said the low counts go along with him being sick. He was doing so well, then this really has him down. They also took him off 20 more mg of the predisone(steroids) and now he is having withdrawal symtoms from this. It is making him really dizzy and tired feeling. His appetite isn't as good either, but this will pass. Predisone is such nasty stuff, but he had to take it to combat the graft VS host disease, which is much better. Hopefully, before long he can get off of it completely. Dr. also put him on coumadin because of the blood clot in his leg. Even though it doesn't hurt any more, it's still not dissolved. We're hoping and praying for a brighter week ahead. Please remember our family friend Dawn Henson's family in your prayers. Dawn lost her battle yesterday morning.

Junior,
Nothing like gameday to get your juices flowing! Even though you had a rough week, it is awesome that you are so far ahead of the game in getting to day 100 and a celebration of great days ahead. You and "nurse Nancy" kick back and cheer on our Sooners against those Cuban Refugees today! Keep the faith and we will see you soon.
Love, Jerry & Lisa

Bill so glad that things are going well but....let's not overdo, k? There are TONS of nasty lil' bugs out there just ready to get a piece of you with your immune system down and back on infant maturity mode. The first few years can be brutal if you're not careful. I remember how much I HATED wearing that mask, but really it's for you and your health. Stick it out a little while longer!
